As part of the 2015 POPSUGAR Insights Food study, we surveyed female visitors to POPSUGAR to better understand their grocery-shopping behavior and consumption of digital food content. We asked women to describe their cooking skills to get a sense of their level of enjoyment and interest in the culinary arts.
Overall, we found that 65% of women said that they enjoy cooking, with 36% saying that they "enjoy cooking and am always learning new recipes" and 29% saying they "love to cook and do it well." The remaining 35% of women were not as enamored with their talents as chef of the household. Fifteen percent of women see cooking as more of a chore, saying that "cooking is a necessity and they do the best they can" and 4% said they outsource all kitchen responsibilities to prepared foods, their spouses, ordering takeout, or heading to the nearest fast-food restaurants for relief.
