According to some early holiday sales forecasts, the 2014 holiday shopping season is projected to see increased retail sales of approximately 4%. As part of the POPSUGAR Insights Q3 retail-apparel study, we wanted to take the pulse of female consumers to understand how they plan to spend on retail-apparel products this upcoming holiday season.
Overall, over 3/4 of women plan to spend "more" or "about the same" on retail-apparel products in 2014 as they did during the 2013 holiday season. The majority, 64%, said that they plan to spend "about the same" as they did in 2013, with 12% of consumers planning to spend more. Under 1/4 of women (24%) indicated that they plan to spend less this year on apparel and accessories than they did during the 2013 holiday season.
