As Coco Chanel once said, "Fashion changes, but style endures." Even the most stylish woman needs a little inspiration from time to time, so as part of the POPSUGAR Insights Q3 retail-apparel study, we wanted to know where women obtain their fashion inspiration.
Because fashion and clothing are such a visual medium, it makes sense that the most-inspirational sources for women are both highly visual in nature. Despite recent declines in print media consumption, 72% of women still find inspiration in fashion magazines. Content websites, another source of high-quality visuals, rank second in terms of inspiration, with 68% of women being inspired by sites. Blogs (53%) and online shopping sites (51%) are additional digital destinations that provide high levels of fashion inspiration for women. Both serve as sources of inspiration due to the influential nature of their content and their ability to share the latest trends. Family, friends, or peers serve as sources of inspiration for women, with 49% saying they get fashion inspiration via the most-fashionable people in their lives.
