Understanding your credit score is an important part of knowing your complete financial picture and planning for success. As part of the POPSUGAR Insights 2017 Personal Finance Report, we surveyed nearly 2,000 women between the ages of 18 and 44 to ask them how they manage their finances and think about their financial future.
Overall, more than half of women have requested their credit score in the past year, with women between the ages of 30 and 44 being 12% more likely to have done so as compared to women under the age of 30. Because your credit report can impact so many aspects of your life, from buying a home or car, being able to secure a loan, or determining how much interest you will pay, many financial experts suggest checking your score at least once per year in order to ensure there are no errors in your report and to stop identity theft or financial fraud. On top of that, it's free to check once every 12 months, so there's really no downside.
Marketers in both endemic and non-endemic verticals can help women stay on track and increase their financial knowledge by offering content that promotes annual checkups, providing reminders and important checkups, and other reminders that can help women stay on top of their lives both financially and otherwise.
