Digital content affords women many different types of content experiences. From video, to photo galleries, to text based articles, women have their choice of excellent cultural event content. As part of the POPSUGAR Insights Content, Commerce, and Culture study, we surveyed over 1,500 women between the ages of 18-44 and asked them to tell us the types of digital content that they typically consume related to a cultural event.
Using humor is a great way to break through clutter and resonate with female audiences, and that's why 52% of women say that humorous content is the type of event content they enjoy the most. After humor, women enjoy photo galleries (49%), fashion coverage (44%), video recaps (41%), and overall event recaps (40%). Interviews with event attendees and participants (37%), live-coverage of red carpet or event previews (34%) are also popular with over 1 in 3 women who consume event content. Proving that consuming content can also drive commerce, 17% of women said they enjoy consuming shoppable content when the content informs readers on how to purchase items that are showcased during the event.
